Teaching is a busy profession so it's been a while since my last blog. I would like to share my Christmas tree 2012 with you. I will be using pictures like always, but also, I am trying something new. I will be trying to put short movies on the blog. I won't have sound to go with it so it still requires you to read. So let's start off with a picture of my tree for Christmas 2012.
Let's start with how to start decorating your tree. I always start with a pre-lit tree. I add bunches of colored lights to the inside of the tree as well as colorful bulbs. This adds depth to the tree. This is all a repeat from earlier blogs. I did make a short video to show what I mean. I filmed this movie sideways, but you will still get the idea of how far into the tree to put your ornaments.
After I place the lights and inside ornaments, I put the ribbon garland into the tree. The biggest change again this year is the ribbon. I wanted something nice, but something that required less work. The ribbon is a shear soft rose/burgundy color with gold edging. The ornaments are Polonaise glass ornaments. I used gold glittered snowflakes, reindeer, and icicle ornaments to tie the look of the tree together. I used the ribbon as a garland with bows that wraps around the tree. You should make a bow, roll out about a yard of ribbon, then make another bow. (See my blog on how to make a bow.) The video shows a short piece of ribbon garland. It's easier to handle and you can attach them to the tree. Make sure the bows do not line up in any type of order.
After the ribbon garland place your ornaments on the tree. The ornaments used to tie the tree together...the gold glitter ornaments go on last.
